A life lived with Passion
It has been a while since the last post.
So many changes in the last 6 months. We put our house for sale. We move all the way half the country.
We are semi-settled for now. For all of these changes I am thankful, sorrowful and joyful.
Perhaps the most thankful episode in my life last week: A visit to the Houston Fine Arts Museum.
The Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, specifically, Van Gogh.
Boy I have read about his biography and how he ended his life just because he was not like the rest of the “heard”.
A society where men were sobrious with very little expression, mute, invisible workaholics, submerged in themselves.
Diagnosed with mental insanity others say epilepsy, therefore depressed, therefore he could not take it anymore, therefore comitted suicide.
How sad.
A person created by God has a purpose in life , a bright and vivid meaning.
No matter the odds, circumstances, family or difficulty, the more we get to discover our meaning and God given talents the more we will
flourish and yes, we will be content. Happiness is transitory, Joyful is eternal.
And there It was, Vincet Van Gogh self portrait of 1889. Full of color everywhere you looked around.
Warm tones, small strokes, a lot of paint.
It was magical. It was If I could see him painting with passion.
Like if life depended on this only work of art to determine a life worth living.
Maybe He did not fail as a preacher after all anyway.
I learned that a person needs to love his God given talents and ought to
live to the fullest like our Lord Jesus, pouring out the best of him.
